You need to run the "Upgrade Wizard"

Below is a link to a German site which has a link to the 'Upgrade Wizard' you require.

Just burn the *.iso (TGUP_ZYW47.200) to a CD and run "Setup"

The wizard is in English by the way.

Sorry. Did not know the link was dead.
I don't know of any other sources on the web, but I do have a copy that can be run from a hard disc (no need to burn to CD).

If you send me an e-mail address via the 'Private Message' system on this site, I can send you a copy.

Edit: It is nearly 22 MB so will take some time to download via e-mail.

You would need the upgrade wizard 2.0 (3.90mb compressed) and the 7.4.4.7 firmware (2.9mb). I don't know whether these will work with an O2 router, you might want to search this formum. They worked with my Pipex (and now Thomson router)

The upgrade wizard restores your configuration after the upgrade, but you may find it works better if you use a fixed IP address in your PC.

I am not sure where the files came from, so if you don't have joy elsewhere please send me a message with your email address.

You will find that the O2 Wireless Box II (585v7) firmware cannot be upgraded to the Thomson version 7.4.4.7 without being unlocked, you can only load the different versions of O2 and BE firmware.

http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=dslrouter&Number=3435849

This does not matter, if you login using the superuser account you have access to all settings that you would under the Thomson version.

Username = "SuperUser"
Password = "O2Br0ad64nd"

Why do you need to change the firmware? If you let us know what it is you're actually trying to do maybe we can help you.... as to loging in without entering your password, you have probably set your browser to save your login details.

Tried that, thanks. Came up with the error "There are no system files found for your device"
Looks to be just the upgrade wizard with no firmware files included, certainly no *.bin or *.bli file in the image.
Anyone know where to find the firmware?

Edit:
Found the firmware R7.4 for the 585v7 at
www.ipstore.us/info_support_int.html#upgradewizard
The wizard claims it's "not compatible" with the O2 box and failed to install it.

If you have the Thomson version TG585v7 then you can use the Firmware upgrade software;

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=51Z7WCLY

and the actual Thomson firmware here (7-4-4-7 is the one available);

http://www.thomson.net/GlobalEnglish/customer-service/dsl-modems-download/Pages/default.aspx

As I have said over and over, if you have an O2/BE or any other ISP provided version of the 585v7 it is locked and can only use that firmware, you will need to follow the instructions in the downloads available here;

Alcatel_5x6_585_608_780wl_v1.1.3.7z

It involves opening the router, making a JTAG connector and using the provided software to extract the cfe file from you router (which contains the MAC etc) and rewriting part of it with a HEX editor. You then flash the new CFE back, then use another set of software to flash the generic firmware onto the modem. This process is not guaranteed and can brick your router.
