D-Link 2740R or D-Link 2740B - which is better?

[link to this post]
Hi,

I am thinking of getting a new router and I am torn between the D-Link 2740R and the D-Link 2740B.

I know that the 2740R uses a Trend Chipset and the 2740B uses a Broadcom Chipset but are there any other differences?

Is the 2740R faster that the 2740B and if it is faster; why is it faster, does anyone know?

Has anyone tried both of them?

Regards,
Fido

I can't comment on the 2740R but my 2740B is excellent, and has been for the last 18 months smile

The R is certainly newer than the B. I saw some reviews that suggested wireless performance on the R was better than the B. However, I have not used either so I can't give any personal opinion on them.

I recommend you stick with the Broadcom chipset for O2.
