How to get router error stats from my Netgear834GT router

[link to this post]
Some time ago, and despite much searching, I haven't been able to find the thread, someone on tbb told me how to connect in diagnostic mode and telnet (I think) to my router to get various information from it. That was my old DG834 router which I've now replaced by the DG834GT.

I cannot find the 'instructions' now and would appreciate one of the knowledgeable people here telling me again how to get that info.

My apologies for not saving the details earlier.

Google 'routerstats', it will tell you more than you will need - produces graphs too and is free and has top hole support. I have it running 24/7.

Check out the Asinine Monkey website, it may be of some interest.

In your browser bar enter
http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=debug

That opens a window saying Debug Enabled.

You can close or reuse that window immediately.

Then open a Command Prompt window. Type

telnet 192.168.0.1

It will probably ask for the username and password. Defaults are admin and password

At the # prompt type adslctl info --stats

(That's two minus signs).

To get out after copying the stats to the clipboard (easiest way is CTRL-A then press Return) best practice is to type exit to leave telnet and again to close the window.
