Netgear DGN series chipset?

[link to this post]
Been trying to find out what chipset the follow new model range from Netgear include. If they all include the same chipset.

DGN1000 - ?
DGN2000 - Read it's a Broadcom BCM6348 same as DG834GT. Is that true?
DGN2200 - ?

Hi

DGN1000 - not Broadcom chip. Looks like these are being made by http://www.sercomm.com for Netgear. Wireless is Atheros.

DGN2000 - yes is Broadcom 6348.

DGN2200 - I would guess this is the same as the DGN1000, can't confirm as couldn't see the firmware for downloading.

Regards

Phil

Thanks for the information. Guess I'll continue to wait for a suitable replacement to the DG834GT.

It was the wi-fi off button of the new DGN range that was appealing.

What's unsuitable about the DGN2000?

I think the D-Link DSL-2740B may be worth a look. I know nothing about it, but see it recommended along with the DGN2000 for O2 LLU. So I expect it has a Broadcom chipset.

The DGN1000 is quite a lot cheaper, as I don't need 300Mbps for shared internet usage. Also I would prefer a newer chipset really, like Broadcom BCM6358 just for the sake of it smile

The D-Link doesn't seem to have a physical button to turn on/off wi-fi like the Netgears.

I've had mixed synchronization results with different chipsets. So far Texas Instrument AR7 and Broadcom BCM6348 have been the best (in that order). Unfortunately I can't borrow routers, as I'd like to try an Infineon chipset next (as Infineon bought out Texas Instrument, I think). But don't want to buy a Draytek.

The DGN1000 uses an Infineon chipset. This is the first device from Netgear to use this chipset. Previous models have used:
Texas Instruments on DG834/G V1,2,3), and DGFV338,
Broadcom on DG834/Gv4, DGN2000, DG843GT
Coneaxant on DG934/Gv5

Useful to know. Now to find out the chip part number and if it's considered any good.

When I tried Conexant I lost over 1000 kpbs sync
