LinkSys (CISCO) WA320N

[link to this post]

I am thinking of purchasing one of these:

http://www.linksysbycisco.com/UK/en/products/WAG320N

As a replacement to my very old router. Mainly I want to have n WiFi and the 4 Gigabit ports for my streaming across the network from my home media server.

Just curious if anyone has any feedback? The reviews seem quite good and I can't find another 4 port Gigabit router/switch cheaper (currently £73 on Amazon).

Do you mean the WAG320N? (Edit, yes you do. I only looked at the subject not the link).

If so, are you currently using an ADSL1 or ADSL2+ service? If the latter, I would not recommend that device to you as we've seen it perform poorly on ADSL2+ lines.

I am on ADSL2+.

Can you recommend another 802.11n with 4x Gigabit LAN ports which performs well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks

The Billion 7800N does very good in all categories.. but the price is just under double of what you would have gotten the 320N for.

Hmm Expansys currently have it on sale for £89.99 + Free Shipping which is not far off the price of the CISCO:

Let me know if that is th eone you were referring to, if so I will pick one up. From what I can see it also has a spare WAN port for FTTC which (if it is not delayed yet again) will be enabled on my exchange in March 2012 so would be a bonus for my "pending" upgrade.

Thanks

Yes, that is the one.

Very good price that! (and yes, will work fine as a PPPoE client for FTTC).

Just ordered it. Looks like a nice "features that you want" rich piece of kits (as opposed to a bunch of "features" I don't want).

Seems there is plenty of support for it from other geeks out there too so should be easy to fine tune for optimal performance.

Thanks again for the recommendation.
