RealTek Onboard PCI Gigabit LAN port

[link to this post]

Anyone else getting driver crashes with this particular LAN port. Every now and again the driver will become inaccessible. eg. No data will flow from the router to the LAN port. Been alot of driver updates for this particular port and wondering if its a program on my system or the driver itself?

The way to fix it is to reboot but have now found just unplugging the the ethernet cable also resets the port. Have run RealTek diagnostics on it and no errors. Tried disabling the LAN port in XP but when I re enable it it says connection failed and have to unplug the ethernet cable.

Just installed the latest driver v5.806 yesterday so monitoring to see if it does it again. Any clues?

My laptop has a RealTek PCIe GigBit Ethernet card. Current driver version is: 7.17.304.2010 and I have no problems with it.

Contacted RealTek in Taiwan and they have sent me the latest driver and done a driver sweep. Will monitor for a few days and see if they fixed it or otherwise will have to roll back the driver to one that works.
