RT-N66U - IPv6 options on BT Infinity

[link to this post]

Has anyone with this router used it to get IPv6 working on a LAN, securely, using an ISP that doesn't support IPv6, such as BT ?

Any tips or "don't bother" type hints appreciated.

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Speeds 49 / 8.2 Mbps - Sync 53 / 9.5 Mbps @ 470m
Huawei modem -> RT-N66U -> Switch -> PC/Mac/Linux/NAS/Phone/TV - last speedtest
13 years of broadband - 1999 ntl:(512k/1M)/BTbusiness(2M)/Metronet(2M)/Bulldog(8M/16M)/BE(19M/16M)/BT FTTC(46M)

A very interesting question... and my thought is 'why bother'? Surely the only reason for using it on a LAN is if you do not have enough private IPv4 addresses to use or if there is an issue with NAT?

Seriously, I'm interested in why you want to do this.

Thanks

I guess my post was confusing - I'm wanting to access IPv6 only websites; from PCs on the LAN.

IPv6 websites on WAN? You'll want to set up an IPv6 tunnel for that, e.g. http://www.tunnelbroker.net/

Cheers that link is in the ASUS guide, but no info on how to firewall it successfully which seems to be the scary bit.

I'll probably give up, thanks all smile
