I'm researching a combined modem / router to use with FTTC. The instruction manual for the AVM Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7390 says you need to have your VoIP phone set up and then connect it to the box. So it doesn't really have VoIP built in? On the other hand the review here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/hardware/reviews/73-fr...
suggests it has a page to configure a VoIP connection.
Maybe someone who has this box can tell me.
What I want to do is connect a POTS phone to the box and have it route calls via my VoIP provider. I know how a VoIP phone works by being connected to an Ethernet port on any router, that's not what I want but is what the instructions suggest.
I'm currently using a Linksys VoIP adaptor into which I plug the phone, the adaptor goes into an Ethernet port. I'd like a router with this built in.
As far as I know Draytek have router which do what I want but I'd like to have the DECT base station built in as well!
