ASUS DSL-AC68U on BT Infinity 40/10

[link to this post]

Hi,

I got this as my BT supplied HomeHub-5A appears to be a bit flakey!

However, it doesn't want to auto-configure & I'm unable to establish what settings I require.

Can anyone advise, please?

NB:- The ASUS asks for DSL Login/password, which I'm unable to establish (although the HH5 implies that the Login is bthomehub@btbroadband.com - but no mention of a password)!

Regards,
John

Blank or anything. The password is not looked at. Your "dummy username" is correct.

What other setting have you got, re VPI/VCI, ATM/PTM etc.?

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.

The ASUS doesn't allow a blank for the password, so I was just putting in a single space!

Sorry, I didn't check on anything else because I already appeared to be floundering in the dark! Particularly as the ASUS Screens did NOT appear to match those in their Manual!

Do you happen to know what they should be?

Anyway I will check, probably tomorrow now, & report back!

Regards,
John

You want PTM and PPPoE, instead of ATM and PPPoA. A space in the password is fine.

Yes, its set to PTM & PPPoE, with VLAN set at 101!

Don't seem to get much other detail from it, although it is saying that its connected on DSL, but NOT the Internet!

I'm stuck, sorry frown.

Is it worth asking in the BT Forum here?

Many thanks for your efforts - much appreciated! However I can now report it as:-

SOLVED!

Decided to double-check the Firmware Version & found that there was a newer version! Nothing in the description, of the updated version, indicated that there was anything that could be significant but I decided to update it anyway!
