Router replacement from 8800NL / Wireless AP

[link to this post]

Hi All,

I'm looking for a replacement for my 8800NL - or, a faster wireless AP.

The 8800NL is the best modem I've ever owned, due to the broadcom chipset and the speed and stability that gives me.

However, the wireless of hte 8800NL isn't great - so I don't use it. I use my Asus DSLN55U for that. However, I'm looking into replacing one *or* the other for faster WiFi speeds - while I don't require faster WiFi for my net, I do *alot* of PS4 / Xbox streaming and file transfers which would benefit from a better 5GHZ connection.

Anyone got any suggestions? smile

Thanks,

Your PS4 won't benefit at all - since the wireless hardware in the PS4 is only 2.4GHz-capable.

Unless you have a pretty over-riding reason not to, I'd suggest that those devices (and your pocket) would benefit even more from a wired connection.
