Choice of routers

[link to this post]

So i've narrowed it down to either the

NETGEAR D6400 or TP-LINK Archer VR200

to replace this homehub 6

it has been locking up and randomly restarting about 10 times this week

i have received a replacement but i don't have much confidence so i will buy either of these 2 as a main with the new homehub as a back up

Is there any other router/modem combos that are recommended? i don't want to spend too much.

If you can stretch your budget to £115 then the TP Link VR900 is an excellent choice. Otherwise out of the 2 you've listed, the Netgear D6400 is probably the better choice due to having mature fw and decent wifi coverage.

I can attest to the D6400 we have one in my office - 250 days uptime without a quibble & around 30 devices connected at any time.

Also i would say give the replacement hub a whirl as mine hasn't skipped a beat yet. Been flawless for months.

My ex SSE Technicolor router is holding up well. Better sync than the HH6 and no disconnects yet. I can also attest to the locking up and random dropping sync of the HH6, very disappointing frown

Plugged in the new homehub

very very slow unit

freezing a little bit

now i can't get higher than 32-35 throughput on wireless

it makes no sense

plug in old homehub get full speed crazy

settings are the same i triple checked.
