Billion 7800n || Sky's SR102 || VPN Setup

[link to this post]

I have the Sky SR102 syncing to my local exchange, I've then got my Billion 7800n connected to the SR102 which I connect all my devices too. The 7800n offers better Wi-Fi range whilst the SR102 gives a better line sync.

I want to setup a VPN, I'm aware that the SR102 doesn't support the use of a VPN.

If I setup the VPN on the 7800n, will this work to protect my privacy online and allow me to anonymously surf the .net?

Privacy is not secrecy.

I would have thought so, but I have not tried. I presume you wish to connect to some public VPN provider. You could likely test a VPN connection to this provider directly from you PC by running the VPN client on your PC.

In general I have been able to establish VPN connections from a laptop at home or in publics places.

There was a recent thread on this forum about what you are proposing to do. I suggest you read it.
