Speedtouch routers

[link to this post]

I have about 4 useless speedtouch routers here, just taking up space, is it worth trying to flog them on ebay. They come from the ADSL Max era, only paid about a fiver each for them but how much should I put them up for? 99p?

Plus P & P of how much? And the hassle to you of posting them if anyone does buy. Then the possibility by now the capacitors have died, and you get returns.

I doubt if it's worth the effort, but don't bung them in landfill. Scrap metal man or the local tip "Small electricals".

Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 63595/13726Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

Yes looking at completed listings on Ebay none are selling so looks like they are destined for the recycling bin.

If the original poster is an electronics enthusiast, the main boards might make reasonable surface mount rework practice boards.

As you say, Bob, the routers are of no value. They were low price products when new and have simply been eclipsed in every regard, including as wireless access points. The power adapters might be suitable for reuse, though they will likely be low output devices with aged and dodgy capacitors.

Replaced the capacitors as they were rebooting quite often, but there doesn't seem to be a market for them as they as you say cheap as chips when new.

I kept all of my old routers and tried to ebay about 12mths ago. did not get any bites so in the end I took them all to the recycling centre for correct disposal. Shame as they did still work for ADSL2+, but not on fibre!!!!

Still got my 510 in the wardrobe with my dial up modem.

May as well keep them as a reminder of how technology has progressed as they are worth sweet FA now.

Got a 3G dongle dunno if it still works also for backup, yet to try it as failover on my router due to expiring data once started.
