Here's the thing - that will technically work for VDSL, so I can't argue that the current equipment isn't "up to spec" in terms of actually working for FTTC. But I think we all know here that this telephony setup sucks. I'd like to get an Openreach engineer out to replace the master socket (and wiring) with something new, and disconnect the star wired extensions, but my ISP Zen seem very reluctant to do anything about it.
Is this an unreasonable attitude on Zen's part, given that as I said the current setup is technically acceptable for FTTC broadband if you use plug-in filters? Should I threaten to leave? I've been told that Zen's attitude is quite unreasonable.
