NTE5c Source

[link to this post]

What is the general opinion of the NTE5c's advertised by many on eBay, are they definitely genuine, or Chinese clones with unknown quality internals.

I'm getting FTTC in a couple of weeks after years on ADSL, (Yay, from 49dB to cabinet about 300m away smile) and was planning to install an NTE5c and VDSL faceplate, as my understanding was that is the best way to ensure I have the same quality install as I would have if I was getting an engineer install.

My existing setup is an ADSLnation ADSL faceplate that must be approaching ten years old, but as far as I know is working fine. I get 4Mb'ish at the moment.

Two things are giving me pause, one, there doesn't seem to be an official BT source of these, and two, the thread below this one that I've just browsed doesn't exactly seem full of praise for the NT5c...

Any recommendations for where to get NTE5c, or should I just stick with what I've got.

So you recommend the older style instead of the latest one?

Indeed. The newer one is too thin and plasticky and too fiddly with the cam connectors.

Fiddly, yes. Performance wise, no.
