Re. 'communications problem'

Shame you deleted the post.
For those that follow the 'goings on' of Enta resellers, it would have been nice to read if this problem was at UKFSN's end or your own?! smile

He is always late submitting his accounts to CH and tbh he is hardly unique in this especially in regard to small outfits, its not a big thing.

Well when you make a habit of it, it can become so - financially. His Accounts were due 31 August and Annual return 14 December.
What are late filing penalties?

Late filing penalties were introduced in 1992 to encourage directors of limited companies to file their accounts on time because they must provide this statutory information for the public record.

What changes have been introduced?

ĽAll penalties have been increased to take account of inflation between 1992 and 2007.
ĽA faster rate of increase in penalties for companies who file more than one month late.
ĽA doubling of the penalty for any company which files late having also filed late in the previous year.
What are the new late filing penalties?

The new table of penalties is a follows: *

How late are the accounts delivered Penalty ľ
Private Company Penalty
Not more than one month £ 150
More than one month but not more than three months £375
More than three months but not more than six months £750
More than six months £1500

In addition where there was a failure to comply with filing requirements in relation to the previous financial year (and that the previous financial year had begun on or after 6th April 2008), the penalty will be double that shown in the table.
A quick google doesn't show up what happens re the Annual Return, but fines are applicable, as they can be for the Accounts as well. The penalties are a civil matter, fines are criminal matters.

There's a fair chance that if his accounts are not in a state to submit to his accountants to prepare the CH filing then they aren't in a state for him to be filing his Vat returns on time.

That is extremely damaging - the penalties are horrenous if that happens often, and unravelling a few quarters of estimated plus penalty payments is very difficult. Been there, done that, but never been late for CH returns.

He has predicted the end of UKFSN many times smile

In reply to a post by RandomJointer:
What are you now, 5, 6 weeks away from all assets being passed to the Crown?

I haven't browsed here for 12 months or more and the first post I read brings back these memories smile

Hi Stalks.

Would you be kind enough to let us know exactly which of my posts over the years have not been factual?

From what I can make out, UKFSN have paid thousands in fines for their cavalier attitude to the law and very little to the 'worthy causes' they are supposed to be funding.

Perhaps you have information that will help the forum clear up exactly how much they owe and have paid in fines, how much they owe in liabilities and how much has been utilised by the 'worthy causes'?

I have looked at the accounts and it aint pretty.

UKFSN will be struck off and all assets, if there are any, passed to the Crown in a few weeks unless they act soon. Of course, UKFSN are no strangers to being listed in the gazette so it is entirely possible that they will pay the fines and file their accounts and returns again...
