It's a joe job, you're getting the bounces because you're shown as the envelope sender even though you aren't.

You need some processing rules to ditch them, Jason can't do it for you.

I thought that as well - but wasn't sure if the OP wanted advice as they were addressing UKFSN.

In the past when I've been at the end of a Joe Job I ended up having to delete the account (it wasn't a critical one!) and recreate it a few months later. I guess someone eventually jumped on the spammer as the new account was unaffected.

The OP wasn't being hit by normal backscatter. His authentication credentials were being used to authenticate SMTP sessions via our mail platform by someone other than him. I had him change his password advised securing his other systems.

This seems to happen once every year or so. It's not possible for me to do anything about it however as it is the result of malware snooping on the customer PC or a customer using an internet cafe where it's almost certain that every system will be riddled with snooping malware collecting passwords.

Interesting, I really thought this would be a joe job, I've had thousands of bounces within a few days from this cause. But they I do run my own mailserver so it's a bit harder to get access to it and I'm really careful about passwords and which IP addresses are accepted as mail posting sources.

But what SMTP server do you use?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre. Live BQM.

My own, I have a static IP address so fortunately the majority of the net accepts mail from me as I also have reverse DNS set up.

Or did you mean which server software? Exim.
