IP Profile gone down to 2mbps ?

I normally have a IP profile of 5 to 6mbps, over the last few days I noticed my connection was slower than usual, even at 4am, so just checked my profile and it is at a comparatively low 2mbps. Any idea why this change has happened ? Not sure who I contact.

This is the info I got from the IP test.......

Download speed achieved during the test was - 1.78 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 800 Kbps-2 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8.03 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 832 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps

It's very likely that there was a reduction in the sync rate of your connection. If your reseller provides access to the connection logs from Enta you can check to see if there is an entry for a change in the connection rate.

If this is the cause your IP profile will rise in line with your stable sync rate fairly soon.

It's worth checking BT have not recently done a BUTPR modify on your line (basically a VP regrade). The default profile can get stuck back at 2Mbps. A VC Flex on the circuit may solve this.

Interesting that the BT Performance Test has returned to giving connection speeds . Presumably part of the changes that have caused its recent instability.

The results seem to be different if on 20CN from those who are on 21CN from what we have seen recently.

This is quite a common occurrence on BTw connections.

The IP Profile you have is actually stuck, so you will have to contact your ISP. This has been happening more and more recently with some customers on BT Wholesale Connections.

Did you get this resolved?

Thanks everyone who posted on here for your help. I decided to wait it out, and approx 4 days later my IP profile was back to 6mbps.

Yes, there's at least one poster here always gets that sort of result. I gave up worrying. Where's that one from?
