Some questions about Freeola

[link to this post]

Just looking about and saw the Freeola deals. Anyone able to explain the below ?

1. Their package details seem different to other Enta resellers, are they still Enta or have they changed ? How come their peak times are different and allowances ?

2. Their max upload for Home seems to be 448, yet UKFSN says 1.3mbps, any idea why ? Do they cap it ?

3. Anyone use Annex M with Freeola, if so, how much is it ?

4. Finally. are they any good ?

Thanks all.

Yes, Enta resellers can build a package to suit themselves and their off-peak suits me fine also.

Upload is not limited if you are on a ADSL2+ exchange.

They are a superb ISP. Top notch customer service and the first ISP to keep me happy, which many here will confirm is quite a feat!

I had a problem with Freeola on joining. The upload was fine at 1.1Mbps, However, the download had been capped at 0.25Mbps.
The download cap had been set at this rate by BT. However I found support useless at solving problem.
Easily moving ISP solved this.
If it does not work out of the tin then it is easy to move on a 1 month contract.
If it does you have a good ISP. As many will concur.

?
Those are very poor downstream stats. (Not caused by Freeola nor by Enta). Have you ever looked into that issue?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 53.7/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I know they may look poor, but they are not. The issue is, I have CCTV cameras around the grounds with a HDD DVR in outbuildings, the output of which I have temporarily delivered to my network via the mains. This was a quick fix that allowed me to measure the noise they added. But fear not, I have just taken delivery of an Edimax EW-7416APN V2 that will provide a direct wireless route to the DVR, which should put SNR and speed back to the usual, though things have been perfectly usable as they are during the CCTV setup.

OK smile.

Let us see the stats after the setup change though. Just in case. You should be getting half as much again.

(Maybe delete your previous post? It's just a quote of yourself. I'm sure even you tongue don't talk to yourself in public smile wink ).

Deleted dear boy. It was a senior moment whereby I replied to the wrong post, executed a cut and forgot to delete. If only we had standard setup for forums, with the quote button either above or below the target. I will make being in day surgery at 8.30 this morning my excuse for the day!
