Simple spam.

They're just placing the bit after the @ in to the message body to make it look more legitimate.

Did not come from UKFSN, so discard/ignore.

I know that, but 'tis weird it's started now. I just wondered if all ukfsn Customers are getting it - that would imply some sort of 'insight' (for want of a better word) that has recently happened.

It'll generally be an "attack" against dictionary words/known names before the @, for easy targets.

Yes, he would be... but the mail wasn't from UKFSN - it was essentially a dictionary attack against known words before the @ symbol.

Dear god,

I MEANT after what has gone on, it seems this type of spam was direct to the domain.

And I am only asking ukfsn Customers if they got the same. That is all.

I think maybe Matt is pointing out it isn't spam. It is phishing, assuming there is some link or other in the full thing?

You have just published your email address to a public website. That pretty much acts as an invitation to lots of spammers. I strongly recommend that you edit the message to remove your email address from the posting.

All it "implies" is that a spammer is using a very basic dictionary attack.

It is nothing new.
