It seems that a router restart helped. It's getting a bit old I fear.

Have a look at this - what I use now, it just works on my useless line:

http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/networking/wirele...

I recently (after much fighting over 8 months with my cisco router) changed to use this entirely, although I had to get my DSL connection set to use bog standard ADSL only as it cannot hold on to a adsl2(+) connection. The wireless signal is strong, the connection is great, and there is a lot of configuration options.

Stats:

Line Status:Connected
DSL Modulation Type:ADSL_G.dmt
Annex Type:Annex A/I/J/L/M
 	              Upstream	Downstream
Current Rate (Kbps)	896	8128
Max Rate (Kbps) 1000	9152
SNR Margin (dB) 11	7.5
Line Attenuation (dB)	23	42.5
Errors (Pkts) 0	0
