tbb forum and fibre connections

[link to this post]

Since upgrading to an FTTC service I have noticed a small problem with the forums which does not happen on main site and did not happen previously and so far it has not happened on any other sites/pages just the forum pages.

Currently running Firefox 3.6.13 on XP SP3 - the problem does not occur on IE.

When I access a new page on the forums the Icon in the Tab remains as the rotating dots normally seen when a page is loading. Everything appears to have loaded and if I click <Stop> the Icon changes to the tbb logo.

Am I alone? or is there a minor bug?

Edit to add:

It appears to be Google Analytics that is not loading - it sits "Waiting for Google Analytics ..."

I don't think it's anything to do with FTTC, it's been doing that to me (albeit intermittently) for years frown.

Doesn't usually last for more than 15 minutes or so.

Install (if you haven't already) AdBlock+ and block Google Analytics - major PITA, IMO (mostly when I am using my 3g connection, admittedly)..

Already use Ghostery and it does not matter if it is turned On or Off - same problems.

This is a very long shot and probably won't work... PPPoE packets are a bit bigger than PPPoA, try reducing the MTU on the computer by about 10.

The Router is already set to 1492 and my PC was set the same, but have even gone down to 1458 with no luck.

Not sure what my router is set to (probably 1500, but on an Airport Extreme it's not accessible!).

The computer is set down to 1280, but that's to avoid problems with some sites when using IPv6 over a 6to4 tunnel. It was previously set to 1492.
