Commissioning of new FTTC CAB's

[link to this post]

Does anyone know how long after a CAB is installed and associated works are completed, it will be to BTW commission and make the CAB ready for orders? The CAB I am served by has all work completed (I was speaking with the engs who completed the work to varify this) but the BTW checker is still showing at 31st March.

Weeks to months, there is no set time and it depends as much on exchange work (inter-exchange splicing and installation of the headend equipment for example) as on the cabinet installations themselves

I have been told that all the infrastructure is in place and it is only waiting on the CAB to go live on the checkers!!!

It shouldn't be long after it's put in until the checkers show it as available for orders...a matter of weeks.

This assumes the work is complete. Often a cabinet can look finished from the outside and then you'll find workers back a few weeks later adding more to it.

It's not in anyones interest to install new kit and then have it sitting idle longer than necessary.
