Re: Basingstoke FTTC - more cabinets this summer!

[re: gr0mit] [link to this post]

Confused - if you put only the post code (RG224UY) into the BT Wholesale checker you get the following:
"Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed between 28.6 to 36 Mbps and upstream line speed between 6.2 to 9.1 Mbps"

But if you put in a house number and the post code the best you get is:
"Our check also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 1Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 1Mbps and 3.5Mbps"

I can't test my number as it's not with BT

postcode will provde a general view and a post code may ber serviced by more that one cab

the checker using your line detemrines your actual cab rather than postcode . If your cab is one of the addtiional 20 in Basigstoke and is not yet live then yous situation would be as you describe

Yeah, when an exchange is enabled for FTTC, the postcode checker will say you can get it (as long as you cab is being planned / already live), so ignore the postcode checker in all instances. Use the number checker or address checker to be accurate.

Great news; yes PCP82 is live. I've just placed my order for installation on the 24th Oct and got it at the BT Shareholder rate!

Anyone live on PCP 67

[re: MrGimper] [link to this post]

Anyone? anyone live on PCP67?

I am on 67 and I note the wholesale checker (for my phone number) is saying 31.5M for me, last time I checked it said 1.5M, I actually get 0.6M. The checker could be premature and I am looking for confirmation.

Chainsawdude

If the Phone number checker says you can get it, don't wait around, order it from one of the suppliers.

You are likely to be stunned by the change from 0.6 Down / 0.4 up to 30+ down / 2 Up.

Enjoy the change
