There is a comma (,) on the end of the link that needs to be removed.

Yeah saw them working on this around lunchtime. Don't think I'm connected to that one though frown

Thanks, that's interesting, I see they are working on PCP 67 which is my CAB.

Are you quite sure about your "rollout phase 6a" information?

In reply to a post by chainsawdude:

Yep, although 6a is nominally September (and 6b December) the reality is that each phase is spread over 2-4 months with exchanges/cabinets upgraded/installed at various times during that period.

I guess that we have been lucky to get new cabinets right are the beginning of this phase, but they're not much use until they're active and accepting orders. You can find plenty of examples on this forum of long delays between a cabinet installation and orders being accepted, let's hope these cabinets being infill will reduce any delays.

Good to see that PCP 199 has had a new cabinet installed. Wonder when it will be up and running?
I'm not sure if I'm connected to it or not though. I live down Primrose Gardens so I guess I could be connected to PCP 199 or PCP 82. Anybody out there actually know for sure?

Thanks Justo.
I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that they start on 82 ASAP.
For future reference how did you find out what postcodes are related to what cabinets?

The new CAB is obvious now I have seen it, but the BT line checker still says "BT Infinity is not currently due to be rolled out in your area within the next 6 months".
After years of being too far from the exchange, this could mean I am even too far from the CAB.

Do not despair, the new cabinets have yet to be added to the BT Wholesale database used by BT Retail to determine which lines are FTTC capable. Since the exchange is already active, Basingstoke is not listed in any future rollout phase and therefore does not feature in the forward planning data available to BT Retail.

Within the next few days or weeks the cabinets will hopefully be marked active and the FTTC resellers, including BT Retail, will be able to place orders.

I recommend avoiding the BT Infinity checker, since it filters lines with low estimates, instead go straight to the BT Wholesale checker to see the full story. Check back every few days, it would be quite some time before the cabinets filter through.

https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

Once you get the data, if you are unlucky enough to have a low estimate then try an ISP such as ADSL24, AAISP or IDnet who will be more than happy to help you get service.
