Linksys E3000 on FTTC (VDSL) service

[link to this post]

Hi

We recently switched from ADSL to FTTC broadband and as part of the switch over we had to have our BT socked changed. We were also provided with a ZyXEL NBG-417N router and a BT box, which I guess is a VDSL modem. We are now looking at replacing the ZyXEL router with a Linksys E3000 or similar. Does anybody know if this will be compatible?

From what I can tell, the ZyXEL router isn't FTTC or VDSL specific - it's just a router which authenticates PPPoE, as I believe the Linksys does - so I guess switching to another router which uses PPPoE should also work.

Any help/advice here appreciated

Many thanks
Dan

Looks fine to me.

Re FTTC/VDSL2 specific, you're right. Just an ethernet WAN port input.
