Upstream speeds

[link to this post]

BT offer 10Mbps and 2Mbps upstream speeds. My line for example will support around 17.6Mbps upstream but that is then capped to either 10 or 2.

Recently I have seen several lines which have near max downstream which suggests a good line but the upstream is not 10 or 2. BT seem to cap the speeds at 8Mbps or 1.6Mbps - a 20% overhead does seem to be quite high.

What do you see from the TBB speedtester?

I have a line that I *think* is about 470 m 0.5 Cu but only get an IP profile of around 35M d/load. Speed always hovers within a few 100k of 8 Mbps upstream - but without access to vdsl stats I cannot say just from my line if that is a vdsl2 limitation for my line characteristics or BT capping throughput.
