BT (Huawei) VDSL modem used on Infinity installs, heat..

[link to this post]

Has anyone who's had Infinity installed noticed how hot this modem gets, had my install today and within 30mins the modem was baking hot.

I intend replacing this anyway with a single VDSL capable Draytek (waiting on the 2850N to come out) but wondered if anyone else had noticed this or if I have a potential duffer..

If you search this board you will find a lot of posts about the heat, and sometimes, subsequent failures of these units..

Mount it on a wall - it will run much cooler.

Plusnet Value Fibre, Netgear WNR 1000, St Ives Cambs

so there is....

Hmm, well my master socket is on a beam next to the end wall in the loft so I could wall mount it, of course the loft heat in the summer wont be helping the thing (not that my current Draytek 2820N has had any issues)

Will give that a go cheers.
