Just signed up to Infinity, what happens with Sky?

[link to this post]

I've just signed up to Infinity online, but was not asked for a MAC code or anything...

What happens to SkyBB? Does BT take care of everything?

Cheers,

Is it Sky full LLU or shared LLU.

If full LLU then we assume BT is taking over the line rental too, and thus no MAC needed. Hopefully you are outside any Sky minimum contract periods, and you will need to ensure Sky get informed after the move, so that they stop billing you for something they no longer provide.

If shared LLU, then a MAC is required to do the move.

I'm full LLU I think (Sky currently provide my BB & Line Rental)... I'm about to call Sky now anyway to let them know and adjust my TV stuff...

Cheers MrS!

Then BT will probably just take the line back (they did this with my old BE connection, and didn't use the MAC).
I had my line rental with Sky and broadband with BE.
It didn't affect my SkyTV. I just got a "sorry you're leaving us" letter from Sky (along with an "are you moving" letter - mainly because BT seemed to put my order through as a new occupier, at my home, who wants to take over the line from the old owner - no idea why, but that's just how BT work sometimes).

Unfortunately (although it has stopped all the PPI and home insulation scam calls) I ended up with a new phone number (and didn't want to risk asking BT to port my old number back in again - they screwed almost everything up with my order, so I didn't want to take the chance they'd mess up even more).

Cheers guys, as you both say BT are going to take care of everything.

It's been a few years since I've had "fast" broadband, so can't wait for my proposed 38 down, 9 up!

Cheers!
