FTTC Line Stats

[link to this post]

Apologies if this has been answered in the closed thread but I have a new modem and was wondering can the SP06 or SP10 firmware be used on it?

If so is it the SP10 firmware. I had my 2B fllashed but unsure if this one can be.

TIA

If it's a Huawei HG612 version 3B, I believe they have been successfully flashed with the current SP10 firmware:-

Has anyone dumped the 3B firmware yet to see if there are any differences to the current SP10?

As far as I know, the different modem revisions are just hardware differences.

There are still only 2 versions of firmware, SP06 and SP10, so I'd imagine it is identical.

Hi, Got into th emodem no probs thanks again.

Still the same stats as before from the change to 17A profile. Nothing wow factor as 1.3 mile from the cab so 19 down and 1 up (every third day still on the up) smile

A few people have reported getting 9Mb upload after a modem change, that was possible by disableing QOS on the old modem, so I'm wondering if they have silently tweaked the QOS and who knows what else.

You could be right and they are identical. Would be good to know for sure.

Ooooh - I'd forgotten that was possible after unlocking the modem!

I just turned off QoS, and defintely get around 5-600Kbps better upload speeds (8.2->8.8).

Its not a new modem though - dates back to June 2011.

Hi Wombat, Turning the QOS off only give me an increase of around 200k on the upload and no difference on the downspeed. When home later tonight if you would like I will post some before and after stats and with the new modem on 17a also.

Regards smile
