Bt Infinity just installed

Hi All

Finally have FTTC in Truro

Moved from Sky to Infinity today

BT engineer was quite happy with me using my billion 7800N as the router

So here's the result ;

Last night :-

Sky

Today :-

Infinity


I am about 300M from Cabinet

The Max obtainable speed on the JDSU was about 87 Mbps

You may want to review that.

Feels good doesn't it to have that speed at your finger tips, downloading at 4.5MB/s is good fun.

I am about 320m from my cab so going by your figures it looks promising I should hit at least 80Mbps down.

Have you noticed a significant difference from what was a pretty good ADSL speed?

All depends on what your doing
Downloads are very fast, that is providing the server is capable.
Downloads from Microsoft were between 4.5 and 5M.
BBC Iplayer downloaded an hour long program in 5 seconds.

Speeds on websites there again seem to depend on the servers.
Where the server was a good fast server, then pages loaded almost instant.

Dont use P2P so can't comment on that one

I don't to P2P either so don't care about that either. Multiple concurrent HD video streams is what I'd love to be able to do... actually just one 5Mbps HD stream would be nice!
