Re: My exchange is enabled - will I get FTTC ? *DELETED*

I'm Brocksburn park too. (I'm going mad with my 1.5-2mb.)

The other old BT cab is on the road out of pegswood towards whorral bank.

No sign of a new cab going in there yet (I pulled over for a look a week or so ago) but there are some yellow paint lines round the cab and the floor panel. Markers?

roadworks.org had shown some scheduled BT works there, but nothing happened, and there is nothing planned, apparently.

I'm beginning to despair.

(Feel free to PM me if you're local and want to discuss this )

PS - this is useful -

Where the hell is cabinet 27 then?

9 is near the coop and the other one is up by Hebron terrace.

As for Brocksburn Park:

According to this, Trentham Gardens is directly connected to the exchange, miles away.

That's bullrocks, isn't it?

That stats for Kirkharle Drive are even more confusing

EO lines are not determined by the distance from the exchange although "most" are probably near.

NE61 6TE looks to be a lottery with 38% split between CAB 9 and CAB 10 and the rest seem to be EO (presumably two separate bundles as there are two entries).

Sounds as though the post code covers a fairly large area, long street, newer development near cluster of older houses?

Need to use the BT ADSL Checker with the telephone number to find out if FTTC is coming.

Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download
BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload ON THE LINE THAT SKY COULD ONLY PROVIDE 15,255 DOWN AND 800 UP ON!!!,
Moved house, now BE Unlimited 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
FTTC Cab installation commenced 12th April - expect full 80 / 20 - bye bye BE, hello BT Infinity soon!

Hmm - I had a problem a while ago when my line went down entirely.

This did not affect any of my neighbours - and was only resolved when the line was repaired, not at the cab.
I am beginning to suspect that I might be directly connected to the exchange - if I am, would I do well to get a second line installed??

It's all confusing. Check burghley, NE616TN. Shows up as being on either P9 or P10.

I too have had two bouts of total service loss recently, probably the same as yours. They were digging around in a hole at the top of the new roundabout at whorral bank and (I think) pumping a keilder sized lake out of it.

I'm with Be currently too, and my stats look just like yours smile

I think that because Burghley was the last part of brocksburn, that's why it's (apparently) all on cabs 9 and 10. I still don't know where 10 is.

I had no idea we had EOL on our estate. We're a long old way from the exchange.

I'm at NE61 6TT, cab 27 smile. It's on bamburgh Drive - the estate opposite the co-op. Still not running yet!

Clear as mud, this.

Sounds to me like there is a good chance that for inexplicable reasons, HarpingOn and I are connected directly to the exchange.

I need to find out either way.

So use the BT ADSL checker with your telephone number!

No FTTC data means no FTTC, date of 30th June and estimated speeds means FTTC available "sometime".

BT Wholesale checker says nothing about FTTC

Talk Talk say July

Spreadsheet says my postcode is connected to a cab, scheduled for FTTC, no mention of exchange only on my postcode.

Fair enough - I was just wondering if the fact that the line problems were resolved in the same way might point to direct exchange lines.

I don't want it to be the case. I've asked BT about my case, anyway.
