Another cabinet question - sorry

[link to this post]

Hi, the exchange our phone is actually connected to was upgraded to Infinity a while ago - its the Locks Heath exchange (STLOCKH), but our street/area does not have Infinity yet (as far as I know).

I cannot use the BT line checker as BT actually believe we are on the Locks Heath - Whiteley sub-exchange (STWHTLY) - though we are not because several Openreach engineers have confirmed this and our line speed is a miserable 1.4mbps at best!

Our postcode is PO15 7JX.

Also a little background to the area: we originally had a TPON, then we managed to get a copper line for ADSL, but the speed was/is very slow. Finally BT installed a sub-exchange, but they only provide now lines on the new exchange. So for those of us who have been there the longest we have the poorest speeds, but MAYBE we could get Infinity as the exchange we are connected to has been enabled - hence this questions.

Please can you post the links to what this checker and this one say about your phone number?

Which BT line checker can't you use? Have you tried this one?

As Moradin says though, you are probably out of luck frown.

Just as a point of information, Infinity is just BT Retail's FTTC product. There are lots of other FTTC suppliers. Just like there are lots of ADSL/ADSL2+ ISPs. Irrelevant in your case though as it looks as though you can't get FTTC frown.

Is that with your postcode or with your number, as the postcode cannot be relied upon as it could be split over 2 serving exchanges.
