I just checked the BT Wholesale checker?

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 40Mbps and upstream line speed of 10Mbps.

I would have to forget about dreaming of getting 80meg

becuase my maximum speed according to talktalk is

Your estimated download speed is 45.9 Meg
Upload speed 8 Meg

and my nearest fttc cabinet is about 5 minutes walk away.
