80/20 Product Eligibilty

[link to this post]

Hi,

Does anyone have any information as to how BT (I'm on Infinity FTTC) will determine whether they will offer the 80/20 product to customers? I ask because the speed checkers all indicate that my line will support 34 down and 6 up but I've had the full 40/10 since last October and my unlocked modem indicates that the line can attain 58/17. Am I likely to be unable to move to 80/20 because the esimated speed is so way off reality?

You will be able to upgrade when the time comes.

You should be able to upgrade as and when they launch the product. I would urge "Infinity" customers to check that BT don't re-start or add another 12 month contract when you opt for the 80Mb service, just be careful to check the terms.

Only customers where the line checker says <15Mb downstream will not be able to take the 80/20 product for obvious reasons...

Pity the BT line checker has been down for the last 2-weeks!

Which checker? I haven't seen any problems with this one:
