I don't know what you are trying to tell me. In your previous post you called the cabinet by the signpost a fibre cab. It isn't. But it is a BT cab, not VM.

The one in this latest link looks like a VM cab, but I haven't gone hunting round rotating your earlier posts to see where it is, if it is on those pictures.

It's all totally irrelevant anyway. Your cabinet is not scheduled for FTTC. But there is a chance, from what you say, that you may be able to get Virgin Cable, either now or soon. That's a completely different technology and does not use your existing phone line. It's still not fibre to the home though.

Virgin cable has a big cabinet somewhere, similar to the BT Fibre cabs, and lots of those smaller ones. It is fibre to the big cab, and coax cable from there to the small ones and from them to the home. Do you have small circular holes in the pavement against the property boundaries?

I don't think more pictures would add anything useful to the information we have already.

(Edit - see TMCR's following post. I'd forgotten that some areas can have these triangular holes).

It was many years ago that Bradford Cable, who then became Yorkshire Cable, and so on until Virgin, put the street ducting in. These terminated on the pavement outside each property in a small triangular shaped hole with a plastic triangular cap fitted flush with the pavement level.
If the cap was removed you could see down a green tube, these tubes went back to the cabinets to make the cable connections.
If you have a duct outside the house, you can have cable from Virgin (in theory). If there's no duct, you cannot be connected.
Always worth checking with neighbours to see if they have cable, even if Virgin say no.

Thanks... i'll have a check. but i'm sure i won't be connected, two things that baffle me 1. we have virgin media cabs all over the place yet they are telegraph posts attached to every house, and i don't know a single person in the area who is connected to virgin media. unless it's just those who are on the main road, the 2nd one is why is Openreach intentionally leaving some cabs out? seems like half a job to me, or did we do something to upset them? or is it because we're sorrounded by VM? just an update the barriers around the new cabinets have gone. not sure if they are going to start work on any other cabinets because it's not supposed to go live until june.

Yeh, thats an Openreach Fibre Cabinet on the right.

did you manage to find out if you are FTTC enabled as i have checked the sheet i am connected to CAB P29, and it stays exchange is due to be active today

Holding date? by the way i rang them up today, and was told it would be 26 pound rather than 24 we're paying now. despite the fact they said it would be the same when we joined BT in january.
