Its via an enhanced line checker tool which Openreach make available to certain staff and channel partners, quite useful to have the extra information. Just wish I had info to when we were actually going live around here smile

Thought this might be interesting for people also in the area, confirmation below of the Fibre coming from Swadlincote.

A lot of fancy statistics there, though still has a date set for June. If you could explain what some of those mean, that would be great.

Here's an image of my local area:

I'm on the right side of Burton I suppose for Swadlincote. After finding out my cabinet number and using the number.. that you times by the length or something like that (can't remember!).. to which provides you with a prediction of what your speed might be.. then yes, I'm apparently going to get around 77mb DL, 20mb UP. ISP sites also state around this speed as a prediction.

Sam Knows mentions from my position:
You are approximately 2.06km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!

So yes, I seem to be getting a prediction on a very good line, apparently... I'm going to doubt it'll be over 70, but you never know.

Cabinets, I hope, will slowly start going live over May into June. The worst outcome is them slowly going live early July!

A fair point about the statistics, to be honest I was at work and hadn't got to to pick out the relevant info so I just copied the lot.

Most of the stats are relevant to my line, however PCP id is the Cabinet number, LCicuit line length estimate how many meters the premises is to the exchange, DP line length is from PCP to exchange. So with that should be able to work out the approx distance from your house to the PCP. Celerity line loss is the Noise loss on the line in decibels.

I was really trying to clear up was the fibre is coming from the Swadlincote exchange although we are served from the Burton exchange for standard telephone/dsl. Even though we are over 8 miles from it where I live in Stretton.

4 x Openreach vans at the bottom of the A511 which connects Swad/Burton today so fingers crossed they are making the final links.

You would think so, although seen them working in all conditions round here, my wife spotted a guy at the FTTC cab doing some work tonight but he wasn't in a Openreach van just pulled up in a car so not sure what he was doing.

Winshill is now live, going to order it for my mum, she will get a nice speed boost, from 2mb to 80mb (76 is her estimate) 100 meters from the cab.
