thats good news, although i think my cab is the only cab in the area not to be upgraded to FTTC so im not holding my breath. the leaked PCP list from OR states 100% of lines are served by 1 cab for 1 postcode but i checked my line and it appear to be on a different cab than it should be. i can only hope the infill wont take a couple of years.

This is something I don't quite understand. If Burton or any town/city is going to have fibre installed, why not all of it? I can understand in some places it'll be less than 15mb and therefore pointless to really install. (TalkTalk say this, not sure about anyone else)

I know someone who's on about 7mb ADSL who's closer to the exchange than I am, yet it's not showing them getting fibre at all. What's the reason for this?

Its a commerical deployment, OR will only enable the cabs they deem as having a good return on their investment when they have surveyed an area.

Is your friend line connected to a cabinet or is it a exchange only line?

Guess it depends which postcode you are then on Fairham, postcode DE13 0BU which is mine is CAB 30 which on the corner of Hall Green Ave. Mine isn't as bad as what you describe but downloading anything remotely large takes ages.
