What are the phases

[link to this post]

The different checkers look to have a phase associated with them. My postcode is in phase 9a as of the dec 2011 data. My town has been enabled. My estate has not. Is there a list of when a phase is being done?

Our exchange was announced in April 2011, Phase 7 and has not yet been enabled.
Other exchanges that were announced in July 2011, Phase 7b are already up and running frown
The new cabinets were installed throughout our area over the course of about 4 days only 3 weeks ago yet the RFS date is still June 2012 - the same date as some exchanges that were announced in Phase 8 in September 2011.

Why is it that we were announced 3 months earlier than some exchanges that have had theirs up and running for 2 months already yet ours isn't running?
And why are other exchanges announced 6 months after ours being enabled at the same time?

Phase xx means nothing. It gets done when it gets done. Don't get your hopes up because you'll probably get overtaken by somewhere else that hasn't even been announced yet.

Their are 4 phases per year

Phase 6 January to March
Phase 7 April to June
Phase 8 July to September
Phase 9 October to December

The phases are only a rough guide, OR at the start of the rollout where sticking to completing the work before moving onto the next phase, this lead to alot of delays with area's behind others.
OR moved to a system of where resources and manpower allowed the work to be completed as quick as possible, hence why some areas are enabled before others.

Their have been many delays in the rollout so, dates slip and cabinets get delayed for quite a while.

OR have had issues with some Exchange and had to abandon implementation. If your cab is going in your in phase 8a. Some of the 8a cabs in my area are coming online.

You might find they've connected the cabs to a different Exchange.

If the cabs have gone in you should get FTTC soon unless they get power issues which is also really common. frown

Cheers
