BT openreach digging up our town

[link to this post]

For the last 3 weeks, BT Openreach vans have been all around our area of Ripley.
And on Saturday, they had some large lorries and what looked like large excavations on the A610.

I suppose I should have stopped and asked one of the engineers, but I didn't.
Any idea what they are doing, upgrading to fibre I assume.

Large excavations would mean blocked ducts if on the main road, which they are using contracters to clear before the fibre can be deployed.

If you look at your local council or roadworks.org site should be able to see what the work is for.
