Cabinet check please

[link to this post]

Hi all
My exchange EARST is fibre enabled and I've seen several cabinets popping up around the area.
Could someone do a check on postcode SG8 5ET please to see what cabinet I am connected to and what if any plans there are for upgrading it please?.
Many Thanks
Dave.

All properties in that postcode should get it, but as of Dec 2011 the cabinet had not been deployed.

So its anyones guess, or it may be available now, have you used the BT Wholesale checker http://www.thinkbroadband.com/btavailability.html

which will give telephone specific info.

Thanks for that Andrew, Unfortunately I'm not with BT for my line rental so can't use the wholesale checker.
Cheers.

If a WLR provider e.g. post office, primus it should work.

If Sky or TalkTalk LLU then yes won't work, but one would hope that their checkers would work as its their line.

I tried the sky one, Who I am with, and it comes back with a no.
The annoying thing thing is that a village 5 miles away can get it, supplied from the same exchange but I can't.
Seems to be very hit and miss how it is being deployed.

You are on cabinet 16 however this is not planned to be upgraded by Openreach I am afraid. This means FTTC will not be available at the moment.

Wow, that is unbelievable, they will be missing out on a whole estate, hopefully things will change.
One thing I did notice a couple of weeks ago was that openreach were at the end of the road doing something, they have left fresh Tarmac that is approximately cabinet sized, maybe they will put a new one in there??.
I hope so.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers.
