Upgrade to 100MB Infinity

[link to this post]

I have been fortunate to have been upgraded to Fibre 40 MB at which I get 38MB download speed 7MB upload. I am about 200 metres from the cabinet. Engineer installed all kit just over a year ago.

I have now learned of the 100MB upgrade which is available in the area, however the BT speed checker says I will only get 77.5MB download 20MB upload.

Do BT have to come out to install the upgrade or it it done at the exchange, please?

Its not 100 Meg, but 80 Meg that is the maximum speed. Hence your confusion

Some areas have access to a different technology called FTTP that is up to 100 Meg and has been for a year or more, but is only in a few limited areas.

If you have FTTC now, then the upgrade is done remotely.

MrSaffron.

Thankyou for that. I have upgraded as from new Wednesday.

To think that one year ago I was struggling at just over 0.5 MB smile
