FTTC - ADSL

[link to this post]

I have had a FTTC connection for just over a year and have decided to go back to ADSL as I want to reduce my costs and also the extra speed wasn't that beneficial to my usage.

So when the day comes in a few weeks to switch back is there anything that must happen in my property apart from using the original ADSL router / modem in addition to BT doing their thing at the cabinet ?

Does the new faceplate that BT Openreach fitted last year still work with ADSL or does this need to go back to the original plate ?

Anything else ?

Thanks

The faceplate is fine, Openreach may want to recover the FTTC modem.

Makes me wonder, in theory Openreach would want to do the cabinet work to move you back to copper, but in practice could they leave a customer on the fibre line with an ADSL product? Saves them unnecessary engineer time if the product switch can be done by software at the exchange, or have I missed something?

No , as there are filters in cabinet that block exchange side xDSL signal.
