Fujitsu broadband

[link to this post]

I don't suppose anyone remembers the Fujitsu FTTP broadband that would bring 1gbps up and down?

Well today on the bus I passed a telephone cabinet on the bus, next to it was a Fujitsu van and there was 3 guys fitting cables. Now my town (Hamilton) already has BT Infinity, so I have to assume my town is getting this Fujitsu broadband.

Is there a site where I can check availability or anything like that?

Could be a private fibre, and more likely than a random un-announced roll-out.

Fujitsu hardware has in the past been used by Openreach, in particular TPON. Or the engineers may have been subcontracted to work for Openreach.

No way.

It was being fitted in an area with nothing but houses, and rather lower income houses if I do say, not the kind of place you would find private fibre.

If it was just a telephone cabinet, and it had no fibre buddy cabinet, then they are just working on phone wiring.

The recent weather has caused fault backlogs, and one way BT clears them is to spend more money on contractors for a couple of weeks.

Hamilton has been wired up for Virgin for years now. Plus they wouldn't be poking fibre cables around the cabinet with Virgin would they?

Nothing to do with the content of the thread James smile, but it would help if you edit the Subject of your post as well as whatever you already did, cos if anyone replies to it normally that Deleted Deleted rubbish goes on for ever and is confusing as well as messy smile.
