Cabinet 2 is not planned for FTTC i'm afraid. It only serves a small amount of properties so they will not do it frown

I'm just providing the same answer that the BT wholesale checker reports.

If a customer puts their number in to the wholesale checker and getting the same message that FTTC is not available.

the checker will tell you its not avaialbe -- it will not tell you the size of the cab or whether its not live, not planned now or coming soom

then it thats is the case refer them to the checker

The customer already states he is on cabinet 2 so nothing I've said is sensitive information. The fact the wholesale checker says no FTTC available means the cab is not planned otherwise it would show speed estimates.

Openreach issue this data to ISP's so you can hardly penalise an ISP for using it

I think most of the people on this forum find the information from ADSL24 and other ISP's very helpful. It is unfortunate that Openreach don't make the same level of detail publicly available. Perhaps that will change in the future.

Correct. Ultimately we are all selling for Openreach/wholesale so why they would be against it is beyond me. The more assistance we can provide to potential customers the more chance of them placing an order which means more return on BT's FTTC investment. That's what they want in the long run.

Yes your right it does serve a small amount of properties but there are some firms
and more housing to be built soon.
I have a good adsl + 2 speed ( be *unlimited ) and less than 1/4 of a mile from the exchange ( the cabinet is only 100 yards from me )
so its not that bad, plus looking to move soon
so i will be checking the speeds before i move anywhere

thanks

David
