FTTC in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs

[link to this post]

As the previous South East Kent thread has been closed due to it's size I thought I'd create one just for our local area.

I'll post any updates to this thread.

Thought I'd create an account just to say thanks for all the amazingly useful information you're providing on this thread(s).

For the past couple of months we've been having problems with BT and I've been wondering whether fibre optic will ever makes it way to the prehistoric status of broadband in Thanet. You've restored my faith, so thanks!

Especially to R0NSKI, your map is very useful. I live around the Ramsgate Synagogue where I see quite a few green pins, hopefully it won't be long now. It's a shame about the blue pin near the Marlowe Academy if that means no FTTC for Newington Library, or at least any time soon.

I'll certainly be keeping my eye on here, as well as the roadworks map.

Many thanks,
Muckluck

Thanks Muckluck.

I didn't realise Newington Library had moved, I thought it had just closed. The old library, I believe is now a boxing club, and is on P15 or P28, but your quite right the new library at the Marlowe Acadamy will not be getting FTTC anytime soon. I would of thought that being part of the school would use the schools connection or is it seperate?

If you post your postcode or PM me I can tell you which cabinet your on.

Forgot to add the current list of live cabinets which are accepting orders to the first post.

For Ramsgate, last checked on the 16 June the current list is:

NDRAM 4
NDRAM 14
NDRAM 23
NDRAM 33
NDRAM 34
NDRAM 50
NDRAM 51
NDRAM 55

And for Margate, which rjh321 is checking daily the current list is:

NDTHA 2
NDTHA 4
NDTHA 7
NDTHA 9
NDTHA 15
NDTHA 16
NDTHA 20
NDTHA 28
NDTHA 30
NDTHA 42

Currently there a none for Broadstairs when I last checked (16 June)

I'll aim to recheck Ramsgate/Broadstairs at least once a week if time permits.

Muckluck, I've replied to your PM - it won't be obvious as unless you turn on email notifications you won't know you have a PM, but there will be a little flashing envelope at the top next to the forum index button.

Anyway your on P18, and I've put some additional info in the PM.

PS 100% of lines in your postcode are supplied from P18

Just checked Broadstairs and Ramsgate, no new live cabinets. No reports of new live cabinets in Margate either.

I did notice that NDRAM 37 is now giving speed estimates, so perhaps that one will be live soon.

Just to confirm that all outstanding cabinets in Margate have been checked this morning and none are yet accepting connections or indicating that they soon will be.

My Broadband Speed Test

Looking forward to a speed increase!

Sign up to the Make kent Quicker campaign that Kent County Council are running:

http://www.kent.gov.uk/community_and_living/communit...

If Thanet registers the most votes it will speed up the process for us getting faster Broadband. Thanet needs all the votes it can get to make this happen so please pass on the word.

Today Broadstairs (as has Sandwich) has slipped to September on the Super Fast Where and When site frown, I fully expected this. But I do expect the exchange to start accepting orders long before then smile

Still loads of duct works and blockage clearances around Broadstairs on Roadworks.org

rjh321 has advised me that the installation of NDTHA 8 did not proceed as scheduled on roadworks.org - it's still a building site.
