BT Dig up Rd, then just fill it back in again?

[link to this post]

Got excited, seen from roadworks, BT had to cabinet installs to do in my area. with the same period,

SO bt contractors show up have cab doors wide open they dig a hole aroung 1ft wide around 10ft long heading away from old cab.

then....

They just filled it back in and tarmacked back over hole and left frown

checked other install, they got shiny new fibre cab.

not sure if I should be worried or not, would just like to see fibre cab in place, at least at that point Id know 100% will be getting it.

At a guess I would say they have provided additional duct from the PCP to the cabinet joint box to provided space for the tie cables

That happened to a few of ours, but eventually the FTTC cabinet did appear.

thanks for replies,

I take it from road works.org, BT schedule 2 dates, one for cab install second for power.

because, it appears most cabinets in my area get second visit from BT engineers f

around Dates : 16/07/2012 - 26/07/2012

sadly all others now have there cabs in place now, lol

hence why is was worried cab not fitted during the 7 day scheduled work at my cab

That is normal. They will have dug the hole an put an empty tube in place, then filled it back in. openreach can then pull the cable through at a later date when the FTTC cab is installed

like the line they dug, comes out about around a foot from cab, then runs along for about 8-10ft along the middle of a concrete path, it then just stops, in middle concrete, there is no access to it etc,

and is completely concreted and re-tarred etc, just thought starnge they would need to re-dig back into concrete from scratch.

Hi

We had the exact same thing about 8 weeks ago, I also got excited but then... nothing frown

Until a few days ago then they sited a new BT Fibre cab about 15metres away from the current cabinet, well pleased... so... its getting closer!!

It stops at the wall of the chamber where they will have core drilled in.

One round my way was installed about 2 months ago and they've just dug up the same area round it for the fourth time.
