Exchange / Cabinet Query

[link to this post]

Hi there.

Does anyone know of a tool or can do a lookup on a postcode for me to ascertain FTTC/FTTP availability.

Postcode is TR13 8TP (Helston, Cornwall)
.
I know the town has been enabled but BT checks are saying not available so I guess only certain cabinets are active.

Many thanks.

Phil.

From http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/fibre/checker.php

This suggests your line is an exchange only one.

Results for Postcode TR13 8TP

PostcodeExchangeService TypeProbabilitySpeed IncreasePhaseCabinet
TR138TPHELSTONThis postcode has some Exchange Only lines
This means there is currently no cabinet to run FTTC from.
Openreach may deploy FTTC/P in the future to this area.

We have also checked the latest Openreach data, which tells us the following:

That's confirmed my suspicions about exchange only lines.

Thanks.

Why are you asking? You must know you are talking about December 2011 data which gave rise to this answer on 4 April.

As it wasn't scheduled, there wouldn't be a phase, would there! Because the phase is when it is scheduled.

If the cabinet isn't scheduled then it makes sense that they haven't provided an uplift estimate, as it might never be relevant.

In that same thread, on 21 June, you post that work next to your cabinet has started, and later in the thread that the cabinet is in place. Presumably the April 2012 data issued later than 4 April has a schedule and uplift figure.

That thread continues to last Friday.

Thanks for that RobertoS, as it says under my name (newbie) you will have to excuse me if i'm asking questions which seem stupid to people that know a lot more about it than me.

I think if you read the thread I linked to, you will find I have not been unhelpful to steveo69. I still think he could have worked out the answer to this latest question himself, with the facts he already had at his disposal.

Anyway, let's not have a row. His cabinet is about to be upgraded so he hasn't a problem.

Actualy, my response was strictly aimed at him and his 'stupid question' remark, nothing at all to do with your responses (always helpful, IMO).
