Fibre ?

[link to this post]

We are due fibre on the 30th of September and yesterday BT installed a brand new much bigger Phone cabinet.
Today BT are back in my village pulling cable.
Is this the start of them installing fibre to our village or am i looking into it to much.

That is an end of quarter holding date - you may get it earlier, you may get it later, but from what you say the signs are good that you will get it before too long.

Please read and you will see i never mention a fibre cabinet, they are installing larger normal phone line cabinets.
Now if it had been a fibre cabinet they were installing then you will find i would never had asked if this could be a hint to them starting the fibre install

The PCP reshell is likely to be the beginning of the FTTC works. Several cabinets near me were reshelled for FTTC about 12 months ago. FTTC is not live as yet. You may have a long while yet before its live .

So have they replaced the original PCP? This will be a reshell.

If it is a new cabinet near the PCP it is likely to be a Fibre CAB.

A reshell shouldnt require pulling of cables unless the number of lines required is increasing - new build anywhere?

Ex <n>ildram , been to SKY MAX - 15,225 Download
BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload ON THE LINE THAT SKY COULD ONLY PROVIDE 15,255 DOWN AND 800 UP ON!!!,
Moved house, now BE Unlimited 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!
FTTC Cab installation commenced 12th April - expect full 80 / 20 - bye bye BE, hello BT Infinity soon!

Re shell will be to allow space for the tie cabling , here any reshells required were done about a month before any fttc cabs started appearing .

We only have 2 cabs on our village and the main phone pipe runs right up the centre of the village.
They ran all the pipe the day and he did say the cabs would be done next week.
i followed the route to the exchange and every cabinet i passed had been renewed
