Not-Spots in Suffolk

[link to this post]

Hi, newbie here, sorry if wrong forum etc. Can't get any meaningful data from OpenReach about likelihood of improving Bband speed above 1.2MB before I die. Postcode is IP13 6NW, ironically close to BT's global research centre.
Any help hugely and gratefully received!!

Which exchange are you on Grundisburgh or Woodbridge, as your postcode in samknows comes up with both.

If you can enter your BT number into the BT wholesale asdl checker and post back the results it will tell us what exchange your line is connected to and what services are avaliable.

https://www.btwholesale.com/pages/static/Community/B...

This is from the December 2011 spreadsheet-

EAWDB WOODBRIDGE IP136NW {EAWDB}{P6} 0 33% 6.03 8a Yes FTTC

Basically 33% of the lines in your postcode connect to cabinet 6 on the Woodbridge exchange and it is planned to have FTTC deployed in phase 8a.
Phase 8a should be starting in your area about now or in the coming months.

Its likely you line is on the other 67% which connects to a cabinet on the Grundisburgh exchange, as for any upgrades you will likely have to wait for the BDUK project in your area or organise a community upgrade program.

presume you have seen http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/5314-norfolk-and-...

The beyond commercial build will be down to what the council decides and their commercial partner, which may be BT or may be Fujitsu

Well its very likely that you should see FTTC in the coming months and the other % of lines in Grundisburgh will likely be upgraded through the BDUK project- will likely see BT Openreach as the winning tender, so the upgrade will happen by 2015.
